PKR closes at All time Low

June 29, 2020 (MLN): Pakistan Rupee closed the trading session at an all-time low of 168.1895 against the US Dollar in the interbank market as the previous all-time low was recorded in April 7, 2020 at 167.8975.

Although, it had traded as low as 169.50 and been quoted at 170.50 on March 27, this is the lowest that PKR has closed.

Today, Pakistani rupee (PKR) depreciated by 52 paisa against US Dollar (USD) in the interbank session as the currency closed the day's trade at PKR 168.1895 per USD, against last session's closing of PKR 167.67 per USD.

The rupee traded within a very narrow range of 44 paisa per USD showing an intraday high bid of 168.25 and an intraday Low offer of 168.00.

Within the Open Market, PKR was traded at 167.00/168.50 per USD.

Alternatively, the currency gained 55 paisa against the Pound Sterling as the day's closing quote stood at PKR 207.5 per GBP, while the previous session closed at PKR 208.04 per GBP.

On the other hand, PKR's value weakened by 1.2 rupees against EUR which closed at PKR 189.23 at the interbank today.

On another note, within the money market, the overnight repo rate towards close of the session was 7.75/8.00 percent, whereas the 1 week rate was 7.00/7.10 percent.
