According to figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, Pakistan’s July-Mar trade deficit amounted to USD -23.272 billion, an increase of 17.30 percent when compared to the same period last year.
However, the monthly trade deficit in March increases by 5.32 percent after balance of trade clocked in at $ -3.049 billion as imports increased by more than 10.07 percent during the month of March.
Exports recorded a 17.07 percent increase upwards after total exports during the cumulative period increased by 13.14 percent increasing by $ 2 billion to reach $17.080 billion. On the flipside, however, imports jumped higher than exports by 15.66 percent reaching 44.379 billion during the July – March, 2018.
