Chairman, Pakistan Economy Watch (PEW) Hamayun Iqbal Shami on Friday said, as E-commerce is a new trend in modern times, Pakistan is constantly being included among the fastest growing e-commerce markets in the world.
In an interview with Radio Pakistan, chairman said, “we have around the world where wealth is growing and technology is being adopted, e-commerce is being adopted like crazy”.
Chairman further said stores can no longer survive without being present on their customers’ preferred channels; retailers need to fully integrate digital commerce in order to thrive in the markets.
The future of e-commerce trends lay in the ability of online business to gain their foothold and establish trust in online shopping and e-commerce initiatives, he added.
Iqbal Shami said development in Information Technology is also a form of e-commerce which is growing rapidly in Pakistan. It has great contribution in boosting the export of Pakistan.
The success of such online ventures has made the nation's e-commerce market a lucrative one for foreign investment, he mentioned.
