Pakistan ranks 114th among 128 countries on effectively guaranteeing freedom from arbitrary interference with privacy

December 10, 2020 (MLN): Pakistan has been ranked 114th among 128 countries surveyed in the world on effectively guaranteeing freedom from arbitrary interference with privacy, a World Justice Project (WJP) Survey conducted by Gallup Pakistan stated on Wednesday.

As per the report, the survey results are based on sub-Factor 4.6 of the WJP Fundamental Rights Index which measures whether the police or other government officials conduct physical searches without warrants or intercept electronic communications of private individuals without judicial authorization.

With regards to Pakistan vs. Neighboring/ South Asian Countries, India and China rank higher than Pakistan at 56 and 107 respectively, while Bangladesh ranks 121 and Iran ranks 123

Whereas, on the index of Pakistan vs. Developed countries, Denmark ranks 1st on this index, followed by USA at 16 and UK at 24.
