Pakistan, Japan discuss bilateral cooperation

January 28, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Japan was reaffirmed during a courtesy call on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif by the Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, Akamatsu Shuichi, at the Prime Minister House.

The discussion centered around mutual interests and the promotion of cooperation across various sectors.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister highlighted the strong and friendly ties between Pakistan and Japan, underscored by the deep goodwill shared by the people of both nations.

He reflected on the long history of bilateral cooperation and expressed appreciation for Japan’s continued support of Pakistan’s economic and industrial development.

The Prime Minister also conveyed Pakistan’s keen interest in further enhancing trade and investment relations with Japan, according to the press release.

Noting that Japan had celebrated 70 years of Overseas Development Assistance (ODA) to Pakistan last year, the ambassador emphasized Japan's commitment to continuing its partnership in supporting Pakistan’s development.
