April 09, 2025 (MLN): To explore investment opportunities and strengthen bilateral economic cooperation, a high-level delegation from Azerbaijan, led by H.E. Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Economy, visited Pakistan on April 8, 2025.
The delegation's visit to the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) aimed to lay the groundwork for increased investments between the two nations.
During the visit, the Azerbaijani side expressed strong interest in investing in various critical sectors in Pakistan, including regional connectivity and infrastructure projects, such as strategic motorways, oil and gas exploration, and oil pipeline projects.
Other areas of focus included the development of special economic zones, mineral resources, energy sector collaboration, and IT and digital innovation.
The high-level officials of SIFC warmly welcomed the delegation and provided a comprehensive briefing on the thriving investment ecosystem in Pakistan.
The discussions highlighted the potential for significant growth and mutual benefits in these identified sectors, marking the visit as a significant step towards enhancing economic ties between the two countries.
This engagement is expected to serve as a precursor to the upcoming visit of the President of Azerbaijan to Pakistan, according to the press release issued today.
Both sides expressed optimism that the discussions would transform expressed interests into tangible projects and agreements, ultimately contributing to the long-term development of both nations.
The visit, characterized by a spirit of partnership and mutual growth, is seen as an important milestone in strengthening the economic relationship between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, setting the stage for increased collaboration and investment in the future.
