November 09, 2023 (MLN): The direct flight operation of Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) to Pakistan is a positive development for people-to-people exchanges and to advance two-way business and tourism, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar stated during a meeting with President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 16th Economic Cooperation Organization Summit in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, as per a press release issued today.
The two leaders reviewed the progress in bilateral relations, especially in trade, defense and energy.
Prime Minister Kakar and President Aliyev discussed common challenges including Islamophobia and climate change and the critical role of ECO to promote regional cooperation and collective prosperity.
Global and regional developments including the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza and persistent Indian atrocities in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJ&K) were also discussed.
Prime Minister Kakar reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity, especially with respect to Karabagh.
