Pak-Uzbek trade target set at $1bn: Uzbek envoy

March 03, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan and Uzbekistan are committed to achieving a bilateral trade volume of $1 billion, according to the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Pakistan, Alisher Tukhtaev.

Speaking to Uzbek media, he stated that both countries are actively working on joint measures to enhance mutual trade.

Specific steps are being taken to expand the export and import structure of food, textile, and electrical products, according to the press release.

He also highlighted efforts to diversify cargo transportation routes and optimize customs processes in collaboration with major transport and logistics companies.

Uzbekistan is particularly interested in increasing agricultural exports to Pakistan, including fruits, vegetables, grain products, and textiles.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s potential in pharmaceuticals, textiles, construction materials, and information technology holds significant value for the Uzbek market.
