Pak- Qatar three-day dialogues would be helpful to meet energy crisis: Omar Ayub

April 1, 2019: Federal Minister for Power Omar Ayub on Monday said federal government was striving to provide the most conducive environment to foreign and local investors in the country as this was the way only that would help to overcome the national economic crisis.

Talking to PTV during an interview he said ' Pak- Qatar three-day dialogues' will be proved helpful to meet energy crisis besides producing low price power.”

He further said Gilgit Baltistan and all the other areas of Baluchistan situated afar from the grid station would be preferred for the investment as it would to run the industries that would provide job opportunities to youth.

He said that the government focused on production of electricity through alternate resources.

The government also focused on local resources to produce low-cost electricity in the country, he added.

Umar Ayub Khan said 20 percent more electricity would be added to the national grid by 2025 while target of 55 thousands megawatt electricity production had been set to achieve till 2030. 

He said modern technology was being used to prevent the theft of electricity across the country. 

To a question, he said the government yielded effective measures to control the circular debt.
