November 11, 2022 (MLN): The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Monday reduced the prices of Re-gasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) on networks of the SSGCL and SNGPL by up to 2.48% and 2.34% for the current month.

The decline in RLNG price is primarily attributed to the reduction in international gas prices and appreciation in the value of the Pakistani rupee (PKR) against the US dollar in previous days.

According to the notification issued by the authority, the price for the consumers of SNGPL was moved down by $0.34 per MMBTU (million metric British thermal units) which is 2.34% lower than the price in October. After the cut, the price of RLNG stood at $14.43/MMBTU compared to $14.79/MMBTU in October 2022.

Similarly, the price for consumers of SSGCL has been reduced by $0.37/MMBTU which is 2.48% less than the previous month’s notified price. After the reduction, the price of imported RLNG will go down to $14.81/MMBTU compared to $15.19/MMBTU.

Meanwhile, in September 2022, the RLNG price for SNGPL was $16.9779/MMBTU and $17.4762/MMBTU for SSGC.
