Offtake of DAP improves by 9.2% YoY in September

October 26, 2020 (MLN): The total DAP offtake during the month of September 2020 increased by 9.2 percent, from 210 thousand tonnes during September 2019 to about 229 thousand tonnes during September 2020.
According to a monthly report published by National Fertilizer Development Centre, the total availability of DAP during September 2020 was 523 thousand tonnes, which included 271 thousand tonnes stocks of previous month, domestic production of 72 thousand tonnes and imports of 180 thousand tonnes. Offtake of DAP was about 229 thousand tonnes. The closing balance worked out to be 296 thousand tonnes.
During Kharif 2020, the availability of DAP was 1,456 thousand tonnes comprising 500 thousand tonnes of opening inventory, 547 thousand tonnes of imported supplies and 409 thousand tonnes of local production. DAP offtake was 1163 thousand tonnes leaving an inventory of 296 thousand tonnes for upcoming Rabi 2020-21.
DAP offtake increased by 5, 23 and 49 per cent in Punjab, Sindh and KP, respectively while decreased by 12 percent in Balochistan
