Ministry of Finance directs SME Bank to initiate SME Leasing's liquidation

February 22, 2024 (MLN): The Ministry of Finance has advised SME Bank Limited to proceed with the liquidation of SME Leasing Limited (PSX: SLL) alongside SME Bank's own liquidation, according to a notice issued by SLL today.

This response from the Ministry of Finance follows SME Bank's request for guidance and a suitable solution or decision.

To note, SME Leasing Limited was incorporated in Pakistan on July 12, 2002, as an unlisted public company.

The company is a subsidiary of SME Bank Limited and its core objective is to extend lease and working capital financing facilities to small and medium enterprises in the country.
