Ministry of Finance, CFA Society join hands to enhance financial analysis expertise

February 15, 2023 (MLN): The Finance Division of the Ministry of Finance has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the CFA Institute to offer scholarships for technical capacity building in the area of financial analysis to officers of the Finance Division, the statement issued on Wednesday revealed. 

The MoU was signed by Finance Secretary Hamed Yaqoob Sheikh and Sajjad Anwar, the President of the CFA Society Pakistan Chapter, in a ceremony held in Islamabad.

The signing of the MoU was a significant event for both parties, as it marked the beginning of a valuable partnership that would enhance the technical capacity of officers in the Finance Division.

Sajjad Anwar expressed his excitement about the partnership, saying that the CFA Program is a rigorous and comprehensive program that will help to enhance the skills and knowledge of its participants.

He added that the partnership would promote the professional development of officers in the Finance Division.

Through this collaboration, the Institute will provide the officers of the Finance Division with access to its comprehensive financial analysis curriculum, which includes training in financial reporting and analysis, portfolio management, and ethics.

The signing of the MoU is expected to contribute significantly to the development of the financial analysis expertise of officers in the Finance Division, which will ultimately enhance the quality of financial decision-making in the country.
