Index closed -598.30 points that kind of sums it up. Political tensions, declining reserves, falling participation and etc are among the many reasons that have taken their toll on the market. Index fellow below the psychological level of 39000 points again today after recovering on Friday last week.
Of the sectors; Cement -122.61 points, Fertilizer -117.87 points, and Commercial Banks -100.42 points collectively took away more than 339 points, the list doesn’t stop though. O&G Marketing, Autos, and engineering stocks all closed in red.
To list a few, HASCOL (-4.86%) HCAR (-4.97%), SSGC (-5%), PSMC (-4.86%), ATRL (5%), NRL (-4.62%) and EFOODS (-4.96%) are the major scrips that took a hammering today.
Sector-wise all share index turnover was led by Technology & Communication (28.23 million), Power Generation & Distribution (12.91 million), Engineering (10.56 million) and with Oil & Gas Exploration Cos. (5.22 million) and Chemical (4.63 million) stocks trailing at the bottom.
KSE-100 Index at the day end moved a total of -598.30 points down by 1.53%, closing in at 38481.70 points with index high-low range of 39437.43 – 38374.73.
KSE – All Share Index Volume was at 129.421 million shares, value of shares traded for all-shares index reached PKR 5.942 billion
The index movement was limited within the 1062.70 points range.
