KSE-100 index up 1096.17 points

100 Index today staged a remarkable recovery after it gained more than 1096 points at day end. The index managed to start positive right at the outset stretching the gains well into the day posting an intraday high of 42770.41 level during the day.

Trading within the range of 1121.76 points, the index was up by 2.63 percent with major contribution from Fertilizers, Commercial Banks and Oil & Gas Exploration Companies. PAKT +3.5%, INDU +2.01%, POL +4.95 and SHEL +5.00% remained buoyant throughout the day as investors flocked on 100 Index increasing their positions amidst attractive valuations.

Volume traded at KSE – 100 index increased by 76 percent during the session after total volume clocked in at 92.108 million versus 52.328 million yesterday.

Commercial Banks, Fertilizer, Oil and Gas Exploration Companies, Cement, Power Generation and Oil and Marketing Companies during today’s session were at the lead today after collectively contributing more than 795.4 points.

Sector-wise all share index top sector turnover was led by Commercial Banks (23.719 million), Chemical (11.706 million), and Cement (27.347 million).

KSE - 100 Index at the day end moved a total of 1096.17 points up 2.63 percent, closing in at 42,744.82 with index high – low range of 42,770.41– 41,648.65 .

KSE – All Share Index Volume was at 88.410 million shares, the value of shares traded for all-shares index reached PKR 3.702 billion.

The index moved in the range of 1121.76 points.

79 companies closed up, whereas 5 were down at the day end.
