KSE-100 index gains 138.73 points

PSX proposes CCPF revamp: longer contributions

October 4, 2022 (MLN): KSE-100 benchmark index gained 138.73 points (0.34%), to close at 41,350.43 points on Tuesday.

The KSE-100 index experienced a bullish trend on Tuesday by hitting the high of 41,587.43 points, on the statement from Finance Minister Ishaq Dar that, “the rupee's true worth is less than Rs200 and will soon fall below Rs200 against the dollar and the government will do its utmost to stabilize the rupee's value”.

Today WTL in a notice to PSX stated that “the technology project is progressing as per plan and after completion of the pilot project of Fiber To The Home (FTTH), we have embarked on 2nd phase of FTTH conversion and for the financing of the second phase World call Services limited is eyeing to list in NASDAQ outside the country”.

On that news WTL becomes the volume leader with 346.03 million shares traded, gaining Rs0.52 to close at Rs1.63.

Out of 97 companies’ shares traded today 48 companies recorded gains and 44 companies sustained losses and 5 companies’ shares remain unchanged.

In terms of sectors, most of the positive contribution came from technology, power gencos, cement, miscellaneous, and fertilizer which cumulatively added 225.04 points to the index tally by the day’s end.

The index witnessed a volume of 115.72 million, an increase of 5% from 121.80mn shares traded on Monday. Meanwhile, the volume leaders on the benchmark index were KEL (19.37mn), TRG (15.39mn), HUBC (14.56mn), CYNERGY (10.47mn), and UNITY (6.27mn).

The scrips which gained the most during the session included: PSEL (5.52%), LUCK (2.37%), COLG (0.31%), SYS (1.44%), and TRG (3.31%). On the other hand, the stocks that emerged as net losers during the day included MARI (1.08%), GADT (4.77%), ICI (1.27%), ABOT (1.25%), and SRVI (1.86%).
