KSE – 100 index falls 17.8 points

KSE – 100 index closed flat today after it moved just -17.8 points during the day closing at 40248.41. Index has succumbed to ongoing political pressures resulting from a religious sit-in in Islamabad. The Government has been shy of taking any severe action against the zealots who have taken the Federal capital hostage.

Indus Motors’ briefing revealed that the Management seeks to invest $40 million to increase capacity at the Vehicle plant. The company expects the production to increase by 10,000 units as the process of de-bottlenecking in the paint plant will help increase efficiency. 

Sector-wise all share index turnover was led by Power Generation & Distribution (27.76 million), Textile Composite (10.84 million), and Commercial Banks (8.75 million) with Refinery (4.53 million) and Engineering (4.16 million) stocks trailing at the bottom.

KSE-100 Index at the day end moved a total of -17.80 points down by 0.04%, closing in at 40248.41 points.

Index Volume was at 61.53 million shares, value of shares traded reached PKR 1.956 billion with index high-low range of 40368.35 – 40082.70.

The index movement was limited within the 285.65 points range.

38 companies closed up, whereas 49 were down at the day end.
