Investment in securities by foreign investors shows a fourfold growth

May 14, 2020 (MLN): The overall sale of securities by foreign investors during the week ended May 8, 2020, was recorded at Rs.56.4 billion, which is around 414.9 percent higher than the figures recorded last week.

On the other hand, the total purchase of securities stood at Rs.30.9 billion, which is 406.8 percent higher than the prior week.

According to a weekly report on Specially Convertible Rupee Accounts (SCRA) released by the State Bank of Pakistan, the net sale of securities for the week ended May 08, 2020, clocked in at Rs.25.49 billion, i.e. around Rs.20.64 billion lower than last week's numbers.

Over the week, the overall purchase of securities rose by Rs.24.78 billion while the net sale of securities increased by Rs.45.42 billion.

Apart from this, the inflow of remittance into these accounts stood at Rs.1.3 billion, while its outflow has been reported at Rs.17.34 billion.

The closing balance of SCRA was recorded at Rs.38.82 billion, which marks a rise of Rs.9.66 billion over the week.
