Inflation for clothing and Footwear items rises by 6.6%

October 03, 2018 (MLN): CPI for Clothing and Footwear items during the month of September 2018, have driven up by 6.6% on year-on-year basis and 0.27% on month-on-month basis, as recorded by PBS in a recent official data released.

With a CPI weightage of 7.57%, the impact of Clothing and Footwear group on overall CPI has increased by 0.55%, YoY.

On the basis of highest weightage of clothing and footwear items in a  CPI basket,  CPI for Cotton Cloth have increased by 6.98%, while those of footwear have recorded a growth of 7.54%, YoY.

Within the lot, CPI for Dopatta and tailoring have recorded the highest increase of 8.06% and 7.94%, YoY respectively.

During the year, CPI shows an increasing trend, taking a leap of highest magnitude in April 2018 and then increased progressively over the period.
