IMO secretary general to arrive in Pakistan for 3-day visit

September 12, 2024 (MLN): Secretary General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Arsenio Antonio Dominguez Velasco will arrive in Islamabad today on a three-day visit to Pakistan, according to the Information Ministry.

The Secretary-General will participate in three-day the "International Maritime Sustainability Exhibition and Conference" beginning in Islamabad today.

The theme of the exhibition is navigating future safety first and will continue in Karachi till Saturday.

His visit will allow Pakistan and IMO to exchange views on the maritime sector and blue economy.

This will be the first-ever visit to Pakistan by a Secretary General of the IMO.
