High court of Sindh establishes two new company benches in Karachi

July 23, 2024 (MLN): The Hon’ble Chief Justice of the High Court of Sindh, Justice Muhammad Shafi Siddiqui, has constituted two Company Benches on the Original Side at the Principal Seat Karachi of High Court of Sindh.

These benches are comprised of the Hon’ble Justice Muhammad Faisal Kamal Alam and Hon’ble Justice Adnan Iqbal Chaudhry.

The Hon’ble Judges bring with them vast experience in commercial and regulatory disputes and have delivered numerous landmark judgments that have significantly influenced the legal landscape.

The establishment of these separate Company Benches at the High Court of Sindh marks a significant step towards early resolution of cases pertaining to company matters and regulatory affairs.

It is noteworthy that the Hon’ble Lahore High Court, Hon’ble Islamabad High Court, Hon’ble Peshawar High Court, and Hon’ble High Court of Balochistan have already constituted separate Company Benches.

The Hon’ble Chief Justices of the respective High Courts are mandated under Sub Section (4) of Section 5 of the Companies Act, 2017 to constitute one or more Company Benches, having exclusive original jurisdiction to adjudicate matters relating to companies and regulatory affairs.
