Govt reduces petrol price by Rs1, Diesel by Rs4 per litre

February 15, 2025 (MLN): In response to fluctuations in the global oil market, the federal government has reduced petroleum product prices by up to Rs5.25 per litre, effective February 16, 2025.

According to the latest notification by the Finance Division, the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has been reduced by Rs4, bringing it down to Rs263.95 per liter, while Petrol (MS) has seen a Rs1 decrease, now costing Rs256.13 per liter.

Similarly, Superior Kerosene Oil has been lowered by Rs3.20, now priced at Rs. 171.65 per liter, and Light Diesel Oil has received the biggest cut of Rs5.25, settling at Rs155.81 per liter.

To recall, in the last fortnight, the federal government increased the petrol prices by Re1 per litre increase to Rs257.13 per litre.

Meanwhile, HSD saw a significant Rs7 per litre hike to Rs267.95 per litre.
