Govt jacks up petrol price by Rs10 per litre

April 16, 2023 (MLN): The federal government on Saturday decided to raise the price of petrol for the next fortnightly by Rs10 to Rs282 per litre, the notice issued by the Finance Division revealed.

Similarly, the price of kerosene oil has jumped by Rs5.78 to Rs186.07 per litre whereas the prices of High-Speed Diesel and Light Diesel Oil remained unchanged at Rs293 per litre and Rs174.68 per litre, respectively. 

In the wake of the increase in petroleum prices in the international market and exchange rate variation, the government has decided to revise the prices of petroleum products, the statement read. 

The new prices are effective from April 16, 2023, it added.
