Govt hikes petrol price by Rs1 per litre, keeps diesel rate unchanged

June 1, 2025 (MLN): The federal government has increased the prices of petroleum products by Rs1 per litre for the upcoming fortnight, according to a press release issued by the Finance Division.
Effective June 1, 2025, the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) will remain unchanged at Rs254.64 per litre, while the price of MS (Petrol) will increase from Rs252.63 to Rs253.63 per litre.
The revision follows recommendations by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and relevant ministries, as part of the government’s fortnightly pricing mechanism based on global oil price trends and exchange rate movements.
To recall, in the last fortnight, the government maintained the petrol price, while the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) was reduced by Rs2.
