Govt eyes export of smartphones: Hammad Azhar

January 26, 2022 (MLN): Minister of Energy Hammad Azhar on Wednesday said that 70% of smartphones are now assembled in the country after the launch of Mobile Manufacturing Policy adding the government's next step is to export these smartphones.
Taking to his Twitter handle, he said, “3 years after launching DIRBS & a year after we launched Mobile Manufacturing Policy, 70% of smartphones are now assembled in Pakistan.”

Samsung has also unveiled its first locally assembled smartphone, he added.
