November 23, 2023 (MLN): In an effort to broaden the export base of the textile sector, the Ministry of Commerce has established the Export Advisory Council, as announced in a notice issued on November 22, 2023.
The main objective of establishing the advisory council is that it shall provide recommendations to the Ministry of Commerce on matters affecting textiles and apparel export and propose measures for export enhancement.
Moreover, the council will hold its meetings on a monthly basis or with higher frequency, if required and the Ministry will provide secretariat support to the Council.
The Chairman/Convenor is the Ministry of Commerce, with the authority to co-opt any person from the public or private sector if deemed necessary.
