July 01, 2023 (MLN): The federal government decided to raise the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs7.5 per litre, while maintained the petrol price for the next fortnight, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said in a press conference on Friday.

The new prices will come into effect from midnight of July 1, 2023.

The revised HSD and petrol prices are Rs260.5 and Rs262 per litre, respectively.

Ishaq Dar stated that the increase in HSD price was due to the increase in petrol and diesel prices in the international markets in the last few days, with diesel rising by $3.5 per barrel.

The Petroleum Development Levy (PDL) was increased by Rs5 to Rs55 per litre on petrol, while the PDL on HSD remained unchanged.

Meanwhile, the sales tax on both the products remained at zero.
