Gold jumps to new record in Pakistan

October 16, 2024 (MLN): Gold price in Pakistan jumped to a fresh record on Wednesday, with 24-karat gold being sold at Rs277,200 per tola, up Rs2,200.

It is up 26% so far this year, with the US Federal Reserve interest-rate cut optimism boosting appeal for the precious metal.

The Karachi Sarafa Association reported the price of 24-karat gold at Rs237,654 per 10-gram, up Rs1,886.

Similarly, the price of 22-karat gold was quoted higher at Rs217,850 per 10-gram.

On the global front, spot gold traded near $2,676 an ounce, up $15.6 or 0.59% from the previous session.

On the other hand, silver prices remained unchanged in the domestic market, with 24-karat silver being sold at Rs3,050 per tola and Rs2,615 per 10-gram.
