Gold glitters by Rs3,300 per tola in local bullion

January 02, 2023 (MLN): The all-time favorite metal- Gold has kicked off CY23 with a jump of Rs3,300 per tola 24 karat to Rs187,200 per tola, compared to its sale at Rs183,900 per tola on the last day of CY22.

Meanwhile, the rates of 10-gram 24-karat gold also swelled by Rs2,829 to Rs160,494, whereas the price of 10-gram 22-karat gold went up to Rs147,119, as per reported by All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association on Monday.

The soaring demand for gold is mainly attributed to the devaluation of local currency, shortage of dollars in the open market, and dwindling macros.

The price of per tola silver has also augmented by Rs30 to Rs2,100 whereas that of 10-gram silver went up by Rs25.71 to Rs1,800.41.

Internationally, the demand for yellow metal stayed flat at $1,824 per ounce while the price of silver stood at $24.08 per ounce.
