Gold continues to rise, adds Rs1,000 per tola

December 27, 2023 (MLN): Domestic Bullion recorded significant gains on Wednesday as the price of 24-karat gold rose by Rs1,000 per tola to Rs220,600.

The Karachi Sarafa Association reported that the price of 10-gram 24-karat gold was at Rs189.129, reflecting a gain of Rs857.

While the price of 10-gram 22-karat gold stood at Rs173,368.

To note, 24-karat gold rose by Rs2,500 per tola last week.

Moreover, the price of silver also recorded an increase today, with 24-karat silver and 10-gram 24-karat silver gaining Rs30 and Rs25.72 and were being sold at Rs2,680 and Rs 2,297.66.

On the global front, the international spot gold is currently trading at $2,066.85 up by 0.04% on the day.

Meanwhile, international spot silver is currently trading at $24.13, down by -0.25% on the day.

In addition to fluctuations in international prices, the domestic gold market is also influenced by changes in the interbank exchange rate of the local currency.

The Pakistani Rupee (PKR) is set to extend its winning streak to the 11th straight session against the US dollar, currently trading at PKR 281.98/282.37 per USD.
