Fruits and vegetables' prices grow on the whole

November 6, 2018 (MLN): Fruits and vegetables during the month of October 2018, have registered an overall price increase over the month and year, both.
According to official data released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), fruit prices grew by 3.4% as compared to the corresponding period of last year. Meanwhile, fresh vegetables recorded a mere increase of 1.2%, YoY.
However, Onion prices shot up considerably over the year, marking a rise of almost 56% over October 2017.
Cost of tomatoes, in contrast, grew by 28.8%, YoY, while potato prices escalated by over 21%.
