Foreign investment in Pakistan observes a 3x increase in November

December 17, 2019 (MLN): Foreign investment in Pakistan observed a 319% increase in a month as the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) recorded investments worth $904.1 million in November 2019, against a total of $215.8 million worth of ventures in the previous month.

In the same way, such investments are noted to have witnessed a growth of 303.2% since November 2018 when the figure stood at $224.2 million.

Foreign private investment in the above-stated period surged by 102% to $204 million over the month while the year-on-year change slipped by 9% as last year's foreign investment in private institutions was $224.2 million.

Within the private investments, $200.1 million worth of direct private investment was noted in the country while private portfolio was recorded at $3.9 million during the month.

On the other hand, Foreign Public Investment, which mainly comprises of Portfolio Investment, amounted to $700.1 million, i.e. 5x greater than the figures recorded in the last month.
