According to latest data from State Bank of Pakistan, Foreign Investment in Pakistan has decreased by US $ 774.3 million during July to November, FY 2018 against July to November, FY 2017. The data reveals that the total Foreign Investment during the period declined from US $ 1,774.9 Million to US $ 1,000.6 Million.
During the month of November 2017, net investments increased by 21.9% increasing to $ 163.8 from $ 134.3 million. Year on year, portfolio investments took a dip as Pakistan’s Equity Markets have been performing poorly prompting investors to divest their exposure. Portfolio Investment during November fell from $ 56 million to $ 42.9 million last year.
Foreign Investment, Month by Month – November
During the cumulative period between July – November, Foreign Public Investment saw a steep depression. Net Portfolio Investment during the period fell by $ 104.4 million going from $ 1,141 million during same period last year to $ -49.6 million in July – November, 2018; a net decline of $ -1,190.7 million.
