This emphasis came during a meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb at the Finance Division today, focusing on the NEV Policy 2025.

The Minister emphasized the need for coordinated efforts to achieve the policy targets while aligning them with Pakistan’s environmental and economic priorities, according to the press release issued today.

The policy seeks to tackle critical challenges in the adoption and production of electric vehicles (EVs) while setting ambitious goals for transitioning the transport sector to clean energy.

The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain, Governor State Bank of Pakistan, and Secretary Finance.

Discussions focused on overcoming barriers to electric vehicle production and adoption, as well as improving manufacturing processes.

Key topics also included addressing infrastructure needs, implementing necessary policy corrections to streamline EV production, tackling supply chain issues, and encouraging private sector investment.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to expedite efforts for the successful implementation of the NEV Policy, paving the way for a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future for Pakistan.
