Pakistan, Bangladesh explore higher textile trade

October 05, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan Bangladesh have discussed ways to increase bilateral trade in textiles and allied sectors, including lowering trade barriers and putting into action the memorandum of understanding signed earlier between the two countries' garment industry bodies.

Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) President Mahmud Hasan Khan received High Commissioner Imran Haider at the BGMEA office in Dhaka, where the two sides also talked about organizing joint activities under the MoU signed between BGMEA and the Pakistan Ready-made Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA), said a press release issued.

Mahmud Hasan Khan invited Pakistani companies to take part in the Bangladesh Apparel and Textile Exposition (BATEXPO), scheduled for November 18-19, 2026.

The High Commissioner assured the BGMEA president of full cooperation in strengthening bilateral trade and commercial ties.
