Finance Minister meets German Delegation in Yokohama

Finance Minister, Ishaq Dar met German delegation today in Yokohoma, Japan. The German delegation was headed by the German Parliamentary Secretary State, Hans Hoahan Fuchtel who appreciated the growing bilateral trade and discussed efforts to ensure trade growth in coming future. Both delegations discussed the continued co-operation between the countries dating back from 1969 in a wide range of areas from energy, health, education, sustainable development and micro-finance sectors.

Trade Numbers in SBP’s bulletin reveal Pakistan carried out a total of 310.70 million dollars worth of exports to Germany in 1QCY17. Germany is Pakistan’s largest trade partner in the European Union. German Parliamentarian offered Pakistan an invitation to become a part of Asia Pacific Climate Fund and extended his country’s support in an offer to assist climate risk insurance for Pakistan.

Ishaq Dar also acknowledged the recently held talks between the two countries in Islamabad to explore avenues of development and growth. Mr. Futchel also expressed his hope for a stronger bilateral between the two countries.
