Fertilizer offtake declines by 41.4% YoY in June-21

July 27, 2021 (MLN): Total nutrient offtake during the month of June 2021 was about 411 thousand nutrient tonnes, showing a decline of 41.4 percent over the same timeframe of 2020. Nitrogen, phosphate and potash offtake decreased by 39.3 percent, 56 percent and 11 percent, respectively in June 2021.

According to the National Fertilizer Development Centre (NFDC), the cumulative nutrients offtake during the first three months of Kharif 2021 was 1,037 thousand tonnes witnessing a decrease of 9.2 percent over the same timeframe of Kharif 2020.

The production of all fertilizer products during June 2021 was 751 thousand tonnes. Out of which, urea production was 512, DAP 75, Nitrophos 78, CAN 70, SSP 8.7, SOP 0.8 and various grades of NPK 6 thousand tonnes. Total imported supplies were 224 thousand tonnes, comprising 209 thousand tonnes of DAP, 3.2 thousand tonne of SOP, 5.5 thousand tonnes of MOP, 0.2 thousand tonnes of MAP and 6 thousand tonne of AS, the report said.
