Federal Government to share data of Oil & Gas, Electricity generation with provinces

Federal Minister for Inter-provincial Coordination (IPC) Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada chaired the 27th meeting of the Inter-provincial Coordination Committee (IPCC) in the Committee Room of the Cabinet Division on Monday.

The meeting was told that a submit committee has been formed on the matters related to Higher Education Commission (HEC) and other similar bodies in Post-Eighteen Amendment scenario.

Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Engr. Muhammad Baligh Ur Rehman told the meeting that it is the desire of the federal government that a consensus should be developed with provinces on the issue of Higher Education Commission. He said that first meeting of the sub-committee will be convened on October 11.

The meeting also discussed the issue of payment of Net Hydel Profit (NHP) to KP and Punjab.

In the meeting, the federal government agreed that it will share the available production data of oil & gas, and electricity generation with the provinces on weekly basis.

Financial claims of KP and Punjab against Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) regarding the cross adjustment of sales tax also came under discussion in the meeting. Member FBR ensured that this issue will be resolved as soon as possible.

The meeting was attended by representatives from the federation and all four provinces.
