Federal Cabinet nears approval for FBR restructuring, digitization

January 23, 2024 (MLN): The Federal Cabinet Committee is likely to approve the restructuring and digitization of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) today to increase tax revenue and prevent tax evasion, according to sources.

Additionally, two separate boards for the tax system and inland revenue will be constituted.

Furthermore, the committee will consider extending the term of the president of SME Bank. The appointment of members to the Islamabad Healthcare Regulatory Authority Board Committee is also on today's agenda.

Moreover, the agenda includes the appointment of the Vice-Chancellor of Shaheed Zulfikar Bhutto University.

The Federal Cabinet will also ratify decisions made by the ECC and Legislative Committee.

Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar will chair the meeting.
