FBR crosses mark of Rs2tr tax collection

FBR hits monthly and 9-month targets despite issuing unprecedented refunds

October 25, 2022 (MLN): The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has crossed the mark of revenue collection worth Rs2 trillion, a month earlier than last year, the board informed on Monday via its official Twitter handle. 

Chairman FBR Mr. Asim Ahmad appreciated the performance of team FBR and expressed optimism to achieve the collection target set for the financial year 2022-23, it added. 

Sources said that the target for the month of October 2022 has been set at Rs534 billion. The tax projections for the second quarter (October-December) 2022-23 have been estimated at Rs2,036.087bn, as reported by Business Recorder. 

In the first quarter of 2022-23, the FBR collected Rs1,635bn and an addition of over Rs365bn in the first 24 days of October enabled the FBR to cross the Rs2tr mark till now.

In September 2022, the FBR collected net revenue of Rs685bn against the target of Rs684bn, 27% YoY compared to the same period last year.
