FATF to announce outcomes of plenary today

March 04, 2022 (MLN): Under the German Presidency of Dr. Marcus Pleyer, Financial Task Force (FATF), will announce the outcomes of the four-day plenary meeting on Friday, March 4, 2022.

Taking to its Twitter handle, the global money-laundering watchdog said, “It's the final day of the FATF plenary. Delegates from governments around the world and partner organizations, including the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the United Nations (UN), and the World Bank (WB) have been discussing key money laundering and terrorist financing issues."

During four days of meetings, delegates have also been deliberating the revisions to the FATF recommendations to strengthen the transparency of beneficial ownership information, a priority for the FATF and the international community.

The event, started on March 01, 2022, took place in a hybrid format due to the gradual easing of COVID-19 related restrictions in many countries.

Meanwhile, Transparency International is also looking forward to the announcement of the results of the FATF plenary, saying on Twitter: “We hope members stand for strong measures to allow authorities and the public to understand who is in control of companies and root out corruption.”
