September 21, 2020 (MLN):The exports of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Products witnessed a decline of 12.43% MoM and 11.17% YoY to value at $65.74 million during the month of August 2020.
The Chemical and Pharma products exported from Pakistan mainly include Plastic Materials, Pharmaceutical products and other Chemicals.
According to the latest data issued by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the major chunk of exports under Chemical and Pharma sector during the month was mainly from the Plastic Material which contributed a total of 26.7% of the entire group exports. Total Plastic Materials exported during the month under review clocked in at $17.56 million, showing a decline of 20.7% YoY and 7% MoM.
The second major component of exports under the Chemical and Pharma Group was Pharmaceutical Products which contributed a total of 25.2% of the entire group earnings. Total Pharma Products exported during the month recorded at $16.63 million, marking a decline of 1% YoY and 32.27% MoM.
Furthermore, Other Chemicals which constituted around 48% of the entire group’s exports, during the month of August 2020 stood at $31,54 million, showing a decrease of 9.6% YoY and 0.24% MoM.
