Exports from Pakistan show an improvement of 17.97% MoM in September

October 19, 2020 (MLN): The total exports from Pakistan during the month of September 2020 amounted to Rs. 313.3 billion, showing an increase of 17.97% as against Rs. 265.6 billion in August 2020 and of 13.64% against Rs. 275.7 billion in September 2019.

According to the provisional figures compiled by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, in terms of US dollars the exports in September 2020 were $1.89 billion, showing an increase of 19.26% as compared to $1.58 billion in August, 2020 and by 7.03% as compared to $1.76 billion in September 2019.

The overall exports during July – September 2020 totaled Rs. 912,579 million, showing an increase of 5.01% as against Rs. 869 billion during the corresponding period of last year.

In terms of US dollars, the exports during July – September 2020 totaled $5.4 billion, showing a decrease of 0.65% against $5.5 billion during the corresponding period of last year.

Main commodities of exports during the month were Knitwear (Rs. 49.1 billion), Bed wear (Rs. 37.7 billion), Readymade garments (Rs. 37.1 billion), Cotton cloth (Rs. 26.9 billion), Towels (Rs. 11.8 billion), Rice others (Rs. 11.1 billion), Madeup articles (excl. towels & bedwear) (Rs. 10.4 billion), Cotton Yarn (Rs. 9.1 billion), Basmati rice (Rs. 7.4 billion) and Fish & fish preparations (Rs. 6.2 billion).
