Exports from Pakistan grow by 12.66% YoY during January

February 18, 2021 (MLN): The overall exports from Pakistan during the month of January, 2021 amounted to Rs. 343,612 million (provisional) as against Rs. 378,776 million in December, 2020 and Rs. 305,001 million during January, 2020 showing a decrease of 9.28% over December, 2020 but an increase of 12.66% over January, 2020.

According to the provisional figures compiled by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, in terms of US dollars the exports in January, 2021 were $2,146 million (provisional) as compared to $2,366 million in December, 2020 showing a decrease of 9.30% but increased by 8.82% as compared to $1,972 million in January 2020.

Exports during July – January, 2020 – 2021 totaled Rs. 2,322,358 million (provisional) as against Rs. 2,108,777 million during the corresponding period of last year showing an increase of 10.13%.

In terms of US dollars the exports during July – January, 2020 – 2021 totaled $14,256 million (provisional) against $13,496 million during the corresponding period of last year showing an increase of 5.63%.

Main commodities of exports during January, 2021 were Knitwear (Rs. 52,118 million), Readymade garments (Rs. 45,307 million), Bed wear (Rs. 35,126 million), Cotton cloth (Rs. 24,235 million), Rice others (Rs. 18,957 million), Towels (Rs.14,015 million), Cotton Yarn (Rs. 13,724 million), Basmati rice (Rs. 12,149 million), Madeup articles (excl. towels & bedwear) (Rs.10,841 million) and Fruits (Rs. 10,293 million).
