Electricity generation increases by 9% YoY in January

February 19, 2022: Pakistan electricity generation went up by 9% YoY during January 2022, to stand at 8,797 Gwh as compared to the same period last year, the data issued by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) showed on Saturday.

Healthy economic activities and industrial support package remained major drivers behind growth in power demand. Similarly, during the month of January, the electricity generating cost remained at Rs 12.2/unit, it added.
