November 30, 2022: Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has approved an Rs3.60 reduction in per unit base tariff for electric tube wells, to provide relief to the farmers.

The Committee which met in Islamabad with Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in the chair approved reducing the per unit base tariff for electric tube wells from Rs16.60 to Rs13.

The new per-unit base tariff will be effective from the first of the current month to compensate for the damage caused by floods and heavy rains.

The ECC after a detailed discussion also approved Supplementary Grant of two billion rupees for flood-related media campaigns.
