July 25, 2022 (MLN): In order to uphold high export growth, the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet is expected to approve Regionally Competitive Energy Rates (RCET) for export-oriented sectors during FY23.
To highlight, the Commerce Ministry had prepared a summary, seeking ECC’s approval for RCET for export-oriented sectors such as textiles, including jute, leather, carpet and surgical and sports goods sectors, effective from July 1, 2022.
The ECC will meet on Monday (today) at 4:00 pm to discuss the three-point agenda. The meeting will be chaired by Finance Minister Miftah Ismail, according to a document available to MG News.
The meeting is expected to approve the supplementary grant of Rs1.1 billion to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in FY23 for 75 Years' Independence Day Celebrations.
In addition, the allocation of budget to launch a comprehensive media campaign on government initiatives, programmes and projectsis also likely to be approved.
