ECC expresses concern over delays in decision implementation

November 27, 2024 (MLN): The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) on Wednesday expressed serious concern over delays in the implementation of its decisions, said a press release issued by the Finance Division.

Highlighting the need for improved efficiency, the committee directed concerned ministries to enhance coordination with stakeholder ministries and divisions.

The ECC emphasized the importance of adopting a proactive approach and establishing a proper escalation mechanism to ensure timely compliance with and completion of assigned tasks and responsibilities.

The meeting reviewed the implementation status of various earlier policy decisions of the ECC concerning matters related to finance, interior, industries and production, inter-provincial coordination, housing and works, food security and research, power, national health services regulation and coordination. 

The ECC was also briefed on the overall implementation status of its past decisions followed by separate presentations by the relevant ministries on the current status of the issues pending with them and the steps taken and required to get a closure on them. 

Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb chaired today's meeting.
