ECC approves various technical supplementary grants

June 3, 2021: Economic Coordination Committee has accorded approval the grant to Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis for pension support amounting to 4.52 billion rupees.

This approval was given in the meeting of Committee held in Islamabad yesterday with Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin in the chair.

ECC also approved the proposal of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs for “Appointment of Foreign Engineering Consultant for planning, preparing, reviewing and Updating of Port Master Plan of Port Qasim Authority, Karachi.

The forum directed all matters where the Authority is using its own funds, after following the standard procedures, may be decided by the Boards and Ministries for ensuring efficient progress on important matters.

The ECC approved the summary moved by the Ministry of Energy for the revalidation of the ECC approval for exploration activities in Block-8 Iraq by PPL. Government of Pakistan allowed PPL to undertake the committed exploration activities with a minimum financial obligation of 100 million dollars in 2012; out of which 77.6 million have already have been invested.

The forum also approved the technical supplementary grants of 873.320 million rupees for meeting the expenses of its various Executive Departments of the Ministry of Defence, 1.5 billion rupees for the Finance Division for providing food subsidy of the Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, 5 billion rupees for the Ministry of Interior for the phase III of Civil Armed Forces raising.

The ECC also approved supplementary grant 190 million rupees for the Ministry of Interior for paying off liabilities on account of 'internal security duty allowance', 320 million rupees for the Ministry of Interior for meeting the outstanding administrative expenses, and 204.149 million rupees for the Ministry of Interior to meet the pending liabilities of the Shuhada Families (HQs Frontier Corps KP North).

The meeting also approved 957 million rupees for the Ministry of Interior for meeting the Employee Related Expenses of the Pakistan Rangers (Punjab), 456 million rupees for the Ministry of Interior for meeting the requirements of Sustainable Goal Achievement Program and 250 million rupees for National Heritage & Culture Division for establishing “Federal Government Artist Welfare Fund”.

Three other technical supplementary grants of 1.762 billion, 3.25 billion and 7.87 billion rupees were approved for the Finance Division for providing funds to KP and Punjab Governments for strengthening hospitals and for effective response to COVID-19 and other natural calamities.

Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Division, Minister for Interior, Minister for Privatization, Minister for Maritime Affairs, Minister for National Food Security and Research SAPM on Finance and Revenue, Adviser to PM on Commerce, Adviser to PM on Institutional Reforms and Austerity, SAPM on Energy and Governor State Bank of Pakistan attended the meeting.
