ECC approves hike in electricity tariff by Rs7.94 per unit

June 13, 2022 (MLN): The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet on Monday approved a rise in electricity tariff by Rs 7.94 per unit.

While holding a media talk, Finance Minister Mifttah Ismail said that the rise in electricity price will be passed on in phases and the final nod on it will arrive from Federal Cabinet.

Responding to how much petrol price would rise, the minister said that it remains unpredictable.

Presently, subsidy on petrol is Rs19 per litre, he added.
